Centering the Coliseum Field

The Coliseum has some of the worst sightlines of any major college football stadium in the country.  This draws from the fact that, when the sun deck was added, capacity was supposed to be limited.  This would create better sightlines, ensure sellouts for the Raiders, and create a more pleasant fan experience.   Note how the corner seats are tarped off However, when the USC football program returned to dominance in the early 2000’s, sellout crowds of 90,000+ became common.  This resulted in fans sitting in the corners near the Peristyle.   Visiting fans get this view at the Coliseum As food for thought, I decided to see what the Coliseum would look like if the sun deck was removed, seats were again placed in the Peristyle end, and the field was centered: The black line represents the current 50 yard line.  As you can see, the seats on the ends would be pretty far from the action.  However, I think this would be a much better way of seating the stadium.  I’d estimate
